Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge declared his unwavering determination to outlast Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reign, stating confidently that he would not meet his demise until Congress successfully ousted Modi from power.
At the age of 83, Kharge asserted that he still had much fight left in him, particularly in the battle to restore statehood in Jammu and Kashmir. Defiant and resilient, he declared that he would persist in his mission until the day Modi was no longer at the helm.
Kharge criticized the government’s reluctance to hold assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, accusing them of attempting to govern through the imposition of a remote-controlled regime led by a Lieutenant Governor. He emphasized the importance of the recent Supreme Court order that paved the way for assembly elections in the region.
Furthermore, Kharge lambasted PM Modi for deceiving the youth of Jammu and Kashmir with false promises, holding him accountable for the turmoil that has befallen the region. Pledging to prioritize the welfare and development of the area, Kharge assured that Congress would work tirelessly to bring about positive change for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
