Prashant Kishor made an announcement today about the launch of a new political party called ‘Jan Suraj’ on October 2nd and set a goal of winning two-thirds of the seats in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.

Popularly known as PK, Kishor has been leading the ‘Jan Suraj’ initiative in Bihar for the past two years. He emphasized the need for a change in the existing system for the benefit of the people of Bihar.

Highlighting the issues of migration, unemployment, and education in Bihar, PK criticized the leadership of Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar, who have been in power since 1990. Despite their tenure, Bihar continues to lag behind in various development indicators.

He expressed confidence in the support his mission, Jan Suraj, has received from the public and asserted that the new political party would garner significant backing as well.

He outlined his vision for the new party, stating that it aims to secure at least two-thirds of the seats in the 2025 assembly elections. Kishor mentioned the potential provision in the party’s constitution for recalling elected officials if they fail to perform satisfactorily.

Discussing the failed liquor ban in Bihar, Kishor promised that if his party wins power, the ban would be lifted promptly. He also criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s policies regarding land surveys, smart meters, and other issues affecting the populace.

Kishor concluded by mentioning that his party would prioritize addressing key problems like unemployment, migration, and poverty in Bihar, assuring that decisions would be made based on the state’s best interests rather than caste considerations.
